Gov. says Fulani herdsmen activities are criminal Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasir El Rufai has said that the activities of the Fulani herdsmen around the country is criminal and should be treated as such by security operatives. Addressing the issue of herdsmen in Imo State, the Governor said it is a nationwide problem while calling on security operatives to nip the act in the bud. “It is a problem that is affecting the whole nation, adding that it is not a case of Fulani invading other tribes but a criminal activity that must be nipped in the bud,” he said. ALSO READ: Governors meet in Owerri over woman beheaded in Kano Speaking also on the activities of the herdsmen around the nation, the Bauchi State Governor,  Alhaji Mohammed Abdulahi Abubakar said the problem has been in the North over the years and its occurrence in the South should not be seen as an act of invasion but a criminal act. In his words, "The herdsmen have been in the North over the years and their emergence in the South should not be seen as an act of invasion but a criminal act that must be treated as such. The traditional Nigeria Fulani herdsmen are not known to be criminally minded, but because of the country’s porous borders, herdsmen from other African nations, especially after the fall of Libya, entered Nigeria to infiltrate the clan." The northern state governors were recently in Imo State, where they had spoken on issues bordering on the unity of Igbos and Hausas in their different communities.

Eagles to Open Camp for Egypt Clash March 6

AFCON 2017 QUALIFIERS Femi Solaja Super Eagles camp for the two-legged AFCON 2017 qualifying fixtures against the Pharaohs of Egypt will open on Sunday with players from the domestic league. The camp will open in Abuja before moving to Kaduna, Eagles will welcome seven-time African champions Egypt on March 25.
