Eagles to Open Camp for Egypt Clash March 6

Super Eagles camp for the two-legged AFCON 2017 qualifying fixtures against the Pharaohs of Egypt will open on Sunday with players from the domestic league.

The camp will open in Abuja before moving to Kaduna, Eagles will welcome seven-time African champions Egypt on March 25. Four days later

, Coach Samson Siasia will lead his ward to the reverse fixture in Alexandria on March 29.
This latest proposal for the camp to open earlier than planned by former Eagles coach, Sunday Oliseh, is expected to be endorsed by the Technical Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) when they meet in Abuja today.

NFF is expected to announce a squad made up of players from the home league and foreign pros today after a deliberation by the technical committee.

NFF’s Technical Director, Shaibu Amodu, met with caretaker coaches Siasia and Salisu Yusuf on Tuesday in Abuja to draw up the squad list. The assistant to Siasia, Emmanuel Amuneke, was not present at the meeting with Amodu as he was reported to have returned to his base in Spain.
Meanwhile, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has selected Zambian referee, Janny Sikazwe , to be at the centre when Eagles take on the Pharaohs of Egypt in Kaduna.The 37-year old has been an international referee since 2007.

CAF also appointed Arsenio Chadreque Marengula from Mozambique as assistant referee 1, while Zambians Romeo Kasengele and Wisdom Chewe will serve as assistant referee 2 and reserve referee respectively. Abbasi Ssendyowa from Uganda is match commissioner for the big Group G game.

For the return leg in Alexandria on Tuesday, March 29, which will kick off at 7pm Egyptian time at the Borg el Arab Stadium, veteran South African official, Daniel Frazer Bennett will be at the centre.

He will be assisted by compatriots Zakhele Thusi Siwela (assistant referee 1), Peter Chauke (assistant referee 2) and Kulasande Qongqo. The match commissioner is Moroccan Said Belkhayat.

EFCC accuses another SAN of bribing judge

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Thursday alleged that another Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Joseph Nwobike , transferred a sum of N750,000 to Justice Mohammed Yunusa of the Federal High Court, which the anti-graft agency claimed to be a bribe. It also alleged that another judge from the Port Harcourt Division of the Federal High Court received N300,000 from Nwobike , which the EFCC also claimed was a bribe.
